The cine tea time is back on February 18th at 2:30pm with a new film and a new concept: a French film on an English subject and with subtitles in English.

“Jane Austen wrecked my life”

is a comedy by Laura Piani with Camille Rutherford, Pablo Pauly, Charlie Anson,

Agathe, hopelessly clumsy yet charming and full of contradictions, finds herself in desperate singlehood. Her dream is to experience love akin to a Jane Austen novel and her ultimate aspiration is to become a writer. Instead, she spends her days selling books in the legendary British Bookshop, Shakespeare & Co, in Paris. Invited to the Jane Austen Writers' Residency in England, she must confront her insecurities to finally fulfill her ambition of becoming a novelist “Jane Austen wrecked my life”and put an end to wasting her sentimental life.

And as usual the film (1h35) will be followed by a time of discussion with tea, coffee and biscuits.

One more thing: Last week I saw a fantastic movie “A complete unknow” about Bob Dylan's beginning of career. All the actors are good but Timothée Chalamet is impressive, he trained for 5 years for this particular part and Bob Dylan himself approved of his performance. What's more the musical as well as political period is very well depicted, Not to be missed under any pretext!

Agathe a autant de charme que de contradictions. Elle est célibataire mais rêve d’une histoire d’amour digne des romans de Jane Austen. Elle est libraire mais rêve d’être écrivain. Elle a une imagination débordante mais une sexualité inexistante. La vie n’est jamais à la hauteur de ce que lui a promis la littérature. Invitée en résidence d’auteurs en Angleterre, Agathe devra affronter ses peurs et ses doutes pour enfin réaliser son rêve d’écriture… et tomber amoureuse.

Encore une chose: La semaine dernière j'ai vu un excellent film “Un parfait inconnu” sur le début de carrière de Bob Dylan. Tous les acteurs sont bons mais Timothée Chalamet est bluffant! Il s'est entrainé pour ce rôle pendant 5 ans et Bob Dylan a approuvé sa performance. De plus, le film rend très bien compte du contexte politique et musical de l'époque. A ne manquer sous aucun prétexte!
